- Oiled foam air filters easy to clean. The filter element is washable with dish washing detergent; afterwards a few drop of filtering oil is worked into the foam. While restriction isnt usually an issue with RC model air filters, foam filters do have increased restriction compared to a free flowing fiber/mesh filter. However, foam air filters are more effective at trapping dirt. That why a paper center and foam outer is the best for off road and a single stage should be for on road use. With proper filtration, your engine should last for a long time between rebuilds
